Mock Interview Registration — Limited Space!

This additional registration is important to acknowledge your interest and commitment to attending the mock interview. The participating principals are dedicated to providing an opportunity to assist you in improving your interview skills and in turn we ask that you honor this commitment, come early to the event, and prepare by reviewing interview questions and dressing appropriately.

Keynote Speaker: Gregory Michie

Gregory Michie is an associate professor in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at Illinois State University (ISU), where he works with student teachers in a year-long internship program in Chicago public schools. He taught for nine years in Chicago, where he developed a media literacy course and a video-production program for middle school students. In 1996 he received the Golden Apple Award for Excellence in Teaching, which is given annually to ten outstanding teachers in the greater Chicago area. For the past eight years he has worked as a teacher educator, preparing undergraduates and career-changers for work in urban classrooms. He has published numerous essays and articles about his work with children, and is the author of See You When We Get There: Teaching for Change in Urban Schools (Teachers College Press, 2005), and co-editor of City Kids, City Schools: More Reports from the Front Row (The New Press, 2008).

His latest book, a 10th anniversary edition of Holler If You Hear Me: The Education of a Teacher and His Students, is the story of his teaching experiences in Chicago public schools.
