Student Temporary Services Positions & Wages

The following temporary positions are most commonly called for in departments throughout DePaul both during breaks and throughout the academic year. Required skills and wages are listed. For more information about Student Temporary Services, contact the STS staff at (312) 362-5850.

Title Ladder Level Wage Description
Receptionist I A $7.50/hr Has excellent communication skills and the professional demeanor to handle even the busiest of offices.
Receptionist II B $9.00/hr Has previous work experience and possesses a wide range of skills by providing general office, receptionist, and word processing support when regular employees are out.
Word Processor II C $10.00/hr Has advanced skills in a wide variety of software applications. A Word Processor II can assist in developing presentations, flyers, brochures, newsletters, etc.
General Clerk I A $7.50/hr Provides basic office assistance such as mass mailing, filings, photocopying, running errands, etc.
General Clerk II B $8.50/hr Provides all of the general clerk services, but also has excellent computer skills. Temporaries at this rate have the initiative and skills to handle special projects and/or tasks independently.
Accounting Clerk B $8.00/hr Assists with filing, inventory control, invoice matching, account balancing, etc. An Accounting Clerk also possesses basic data entry, spreadsheet, and ten-key calculator skills.
Data Entry Clerk B $8.00/hr Is able to work with a variety of different databases while maintaining speed & accuracy.
Research Assistant D $9.35/hr Assists with data collection for a research topic/project through maintenance of files, word processing, data entry, phone surveys and other duties.
Programmer D $10.50/hr Develops programs in a variety of languages within different systems. A Programmer will also work independently providing technical solutions to assigned issues. Position may include programming reports from existing databases and/or mainframe systems.
Web Site Designer D $10.50/hr Provides both web site design and maintenance for department. Duties may include writing HTML, Java, or CGI scripts, performing routine site reports and/or FTP responsibilities.
