Career Fair Plus App

Career Fair Plus

DePaul Career Fair + is a full-featured iPhone, iPad and Android app that puts the power to prepare for fairs in your hands. Prepare for the Fair

  • Research companies you’re interested in and come prepared to ask specific questions that reflect your knowledge of that company.
  • Attend the How to Work a Job Fair & Internship Fair workshop. Learn how to effectively showcase your skills and abilities at a fair.
  • Have your resume reviewed. Is your resume error-free and ready for employers? Visit the Peer Career Advisors for a resume critique.
  • Practice your 30-second pitch. Your pitch is how you introduce yourself – it’s a brief overview of you, your background and career interests. An engaging pitch and firm handshake can help you market yourself and stand out to an employer.

At the Fair

  • Bring a pen, notepad, and resumes and/or business cards. Bring a clean stack of resumes to distribute to employers. If a recruiter is not accepting resumes, ask about their application process and be sure to take notes.
  • Dress professionally. Professional dress is strongly recommended – it's what employers will expect of you! For men this means a business suit, white or solid colored shirt and a tie. Appropriate attire for women would be business suit, either pants or a skirt, with a conservative shirt or blouse. A professionally appropriate skirt is typically loose and falls either just above the knee or lower.
  • Visit the ASK Oasis. Alumni from DePaul’s Alumni Sharing Knowledge(ASK) are on hand at each job fair to help you prepare to approach employers and make a lasting impression. Stop by to practice your handshake and introduction, test out your 30-second pitch, or just to get a confidence boost!
