Deciding to make a career change can be a challenging decision for students and alumni. To explore career options and prepare for a smooth transition, you should:
- Conduct research on making a career change. Useful books and resources are listed under Career Resources and Information.
- Attend the Managing Career Transitions Workshop.
- Consider attending other Career Center workshops that might assist you in the process of making a career change including, Myers Briggs Type Indicator, Strong Interest Explorer, Work Values and Skills and Accomplishments.
- Attend the Career Changers Forum held each year by the Career Center. This half-day forum is designed to guide students and alumni contemplating a career change or those already in the midst of a transition in their professional lives.
- Meet with a Career Advisor who specializes in working with students and alumni contemplating career changes.
