Career Advisors can assist you with deciding whether to attend graduate school, developing your resume, preparing for the interviewing process, negotiating a compensation package and making a career change. If you are just starting to plan your career or develop your resume, or have some questions about how to best use the Career Center's services, walk–in to one of our locations and visit a Peer Career Advisor.

Alumni Career Services

Each Career Advisor specializes in a particular area and can assist you with laying out your career path and identifying career trends in your particular field. An in–person (phone appointments at the discretion of each advisor) career strategy session with a professional Career Advisor can benefit you by helping you determine the most appropriate job search strategies and find the types of resources to assist you in your search.

Career Advisors

Career Transition Center (CTC)
The CTC is a not–for–profit organization which provides professional, emotional and spiritual support to those seeking a job, looking for meaningful work, or otherwise undergoing a career transition. DePaul is a sponsoring institution and DePaul alumni are eligible for a 33% discount on service fees. Three months of service is available for just $100.

Peer Career Advisors

Peer Career Advising is a good place for students and alumni to begin the process of career planning. The Peer Career Advisors are undergraduate students who have been carefully selected and trained by the Career Center to work with students and alumni in an advisory capacity. A Peer Career Advisor can provide:

• An overview of Career Center services
• Help with the Recruiting online system to participate in Career Center services such as workshops, on–campus recruiting, job listings, online resume books and searching for mentors
• Assistance with finding on campus employment
• Resume and job search correspondence critiques
• Interviewing tips
• General guidance with job search strategies
• Graduate school search and application tips

Meetings with Peer Career Advisors are free. You may talk with a Peer Career Advisor as often as you want. Peers can be a great resource even for the most experienced students and alumni, because they know what Career Center services and can give you pointers on how to best maximize those services.
