DePaul’s Career Center provides students, alumni and employers with opportunities to connect. No matter where you are in your career search, whether it’s deciding on a career path, making a career change, or preparing for your first job interview, we can help.



IDENTIFY WHAT MAJOR & CAREER IS THE RIGHT FIT

  • Meet with a Career Advisor
    Meet one-on-one with a peer career advisor or with a career specialist who focuses on your program of study.
  • Take a career assessment
    Identify your personality strengths and career possibilities using the Choices Career Planner, Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) or Strong Interest Explorer.
  • Attend a workshop
    Build and strengthen your career-related skills and prepare for your job or internship at a career development workshop.
  • Develop your resume and portfolio
    Learn how to showcase your work skills and experiences.


WORK, EARN AND LEARN

DePaul’s University Internship Program connects you with employers in short-term and long-term internships. You can:

  • Explore potential careers and industries
  • Graduate with up to three years of professional work experience
  • Apply classroom learning in internship settings
  • Establish a network of professional contacts, mentors and references
  • Fulfill your Experiential Learning Requirement


CONNECT WITH PROFESSIONALS

  • Attend networking events
    Learn from alumni and industry leaders about their experiences and professions by attending a variety of career networking events.
  • Connect with a career mentor
    Gain insight from Alumni Sharing Knowledge (ASK) volunteers on topics such as how they found their job, what it’s like to work in their industry and how much you can expect to earn in that field.
  • Practice interviewing
    Enhance your interviewing skills by meeting one-on-one with an ASK volunteer.


FIND AN INTERNSHIP OR JOB

  • Work on-campus
    An on-campus job helps you build skills, gain work experience, and earn money. Students seeking flexible work assignments can apply to be a student temp through Student Temporary Services.
  • Find work
    Hundreds of leading organizations come to DePaul each year to recruit talent and meet their hiring needs. Connect with employers through a variety of Career Center services, including:
